DEEN

Hello! I'm isa (she/her) and when I'm not riding around on my bicycle, spending time in nature or in the garden, I work with people of all ages who want to improve their English, and of course as a trainer!

"Jobs fill your pockets, but adventures fill your soul!"

Variety, challenges and adventures are important to me in my work as a trainer, because to me that's the only way to learn in life! I see every seminar and workshop as an adventure, an opportunity where I can learn a lot with and from the participants! These are protected spaces in which the participants can evolve, try out and, if necessary, rediscover themselves, while fun and lightness are not neglected.

Calmness and energy, both are things I can offer participants, depending on what the group needs at the moment. Adapting to the needs of the group while at the same time providing structure is what being a trainer is all about for me.

While working on two bachelor’s degrees (International Development, English & American Studies) and one master degree (Contemporary History & Media Studies), I was active at different levels of the Austrian Students Union / ÖH (federal level, ASU at the University of Vienna, elected student representative/bagru). Therefore, I often had the chance to attend wonderfully trained seminars and now I am very happy to be able to offer and carry them out myself!

The Trainer Qualification Training (TTL 2022) included modules in the following areas: theme-centered interaction, group dynamics, conflict management/ -resolution, process discovery, communication, sensitization & awareness - gender and diversity, supervision, team development, digital trainings as well as anti-sexism, anti-racism and civil courage.

I also hold a Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) from the Cambridge Institute. Some of the topics covered in the course were: understanding varying backgrounds of learners & differing learning preferences, language analysis and awareness, language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing), planning and resources for different teaching contexts, as well as developing teaching skills and professionalism.

All trainings, seminars, workshops, and content facilitation of and with groups or individuals can be delivered in English as well as German and online or face-to-face.

I have a lot of time & motivation to train and always enjoy getting to know new places and seminar locations!

Thematic focal points on which I offer seminars include but are not limited to:

  • team- / trustbuilding
  • community management
  • project planning & organization
  • strategy retreats
  • theater improvisation on & off stage
  • (Business) English immersion language trainings
  • moderation and conflict management/ -resolution
  • grassroots democracy
  • feminism
  • anti-fascism
  • sustainability and climate activism
  • mental health a.o. in activism & volunteering
  • first semester tutorials of the ASU/ÖH
  • stereotypes, prejudices & forms of discrimination
  • connecting history and present
  • and much more
